ABOUT DAKOTA PRAIRIE LABS

We are family breeders located in Rolette, North Dakota. Our children love to play with our dogs and are always looking forward to an expected litter.  We live on 6 acres which gives all of them plenty of space to roam.

Our very first Labrador was our beautiful chocolate girl Kya, who stole our hearts as a puppy the moment we saw her picture. We brought her into our family in 2023 as we knew she was the perfect girl to start our Lab breeding program. In 2025, we brought home our handsome yellow boy, Duke. He is a 3 year old yellow lab we adopted from a reputable breeder in Washington.

Our breeding program focuses on quality, which means your puppy with be happy and healthy when you bring it home. At Dakota Prairie Labs, we believe in giving our puppies the very best start in life. From the moment they are born, we follow early socialization practices to help them grow into confident, well-adjusted companions. We gently introduce them to new sights, sounds, and experiences so they learn that the world is a safe and exciting place. Beginning at just a few days old, we also practice Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) — a series of simple handling exercises that expose puppies to mild, positive stressors. ENS has been shown to strengthen their immune systems, improve stress tolerance, and support lifelong resilience. By combining ENS, careful sound desensitization, and daily interactions with people, we raise puppies who are not only healthy, but also curious, adaptable, and ready to thrive in their new homes. Our pups are easy to train, behave well, and are extremely loyal, which make a great addition to any family. Because of the genetic screenings we performed on the parents, your puppy comes with a one year warranty. Your puppy has a great chance of remaining healthy for the duration of its life.

We truly believe this breed is the best family dog anyone could ask for. Gentle and calm in nature, with the always-wagging-tail, friendly to all, stranger to none. They love to relax and hang out with the family in the living room, yet they're eager and ready at a moment's notice to play fetch, take a long swim, or go on a hunt. We know from personal experience that there is no better companion than the Lab.

We love all colors of Labradors but only recognize black, chocolate, and yellow. Far more important to us than color is our emphasis on structure, beauty, temperament, and health.

If you think one of our puppies would be the perfect fit for you, please do not hesitate to reach out for further information!
